Funny Facts About Women

Looking for funny facts about women? Here is a selection of our best for you to enjoy….

1) The woman with the smallest waist in the world is Cathie Jung from the USA. Her waist is a tiny 21 inches in diameter … roughly the same as a roast chicken!

2) So not all stereotypes are true … whilst it may come as no surprise that the most Tweets per second on Twitter was set during a major women’s event, you may be surprised to hear that the event was the Women’s World Cup final 2011. It’s not just guys who like to talk about soccer then!

3) Women’s sport hasn’t always been popular though. The Women’s croquet competition at the Paris Olympics in 1900 still holds the record for the lowest attendance for an Olympic event … one very lonely English man! (Maybe he thought it was the women’s CRICKET). At least he got a good seat!

4) The most pregnant women ever gathered together in the same place was an amazing 1,164 at a baby show in South Africa in 2007. I bet there were a lot of people giving up their seats on the train that day!

5) How many women can you fit in a BMW Mini? 26 apparently. The Pilobolus Dance Company of New York broke the record in January 2011. There hadn’t been that many women on top of each other in a confined space in New York since Tiger Woods was last in town!

6) In Saudi Arabia, a woman can divorce her husband if he doesn’t give her coffee!

7) The two people with the highest recorded IQ’s were both women.  You wouldn’t blame them for thinking that ‘being intimidated’ was a permanent male character trait!

8) The average woman owns 20 pairs of shoes, 11 of which they will NEVER WEAR!

9) Journalist Nellie Bly comprehensively beat Phileas Fogg when she completed an around the world journey in only seventy-two days. Admittedly Phileas Fogg was a fictional character so she beat him just by being a real person!

10) The first person ever to go over Niagara Falls in a wooden barrel was a woman, Annie Edison Taylor. She survived with just a small scratch on her head (and a worrying lack of safety awareness!).

11) Got any hidden talents? A 1940’s movie actress, Hedy Lemarr, decided to take a break from acting and help out with the war efforts. She developed a radio-controlled torpedo that has been used by the US military in conflict situations!

12) Josephine Baker was a very impressive woman. As well as being the first African American female to star in a major movie, and playing a big role in the Civil Rights Movement, she was also a spy during World War 2 – smuggling messages to French soldiers under her dress!

13) Women talk nearly 3 times as much as men. Research has shown that women speak an average of 20,000 words a day, with men at around 7,000 words. Apparently male communication is inhibited by testosterone … whatever … this is stupid… communication … hard … me go out hunt now.

14) Women spend an average 2 years of their life looking in the mirror. Well they do say that TV is not as good as it used to be.

15) Stanford University researchers found that women have a classier sense of humor than men. They gave men and women funny cartoons to look at while having their brains monitored with an MRI. Men showed a lot less activity in their brains than women, who evaluated the cartoons with much more thought. So that’s why men enjoy the shallow slapstick humor more than women … HAHAHAHA HA ha ha … sorry … someone just tripped over something on the TV. Haha. Ha. It was a dog.
